Q131
Geography (incl. West Bengal)West Bengal Geography
The Singalila mountain range is situated on the border between West Bengal and
  1. a.Sikkim
  2. b.Nepal
  3. c.Assam
  4. d.Bhutan

Answer: (B) Nepal

The Singalila ridge runs along the border between Darjeeling district and Nepal; its peak Sandakphu (3,636 m) is the highest point of West Bengal, and the Singalila National Park lies on the Indian side. Sikkim is the tempting option, as the ridge continues north to Kanchenjunga, but there it divides Sikkim from Nepal, not West Bengal from Sikkim. Bhutan borders the Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar districts of West Bengal further east. West Bengal also borders Assam in the north-east, but not along this range.
