Answer: (B) Nathapa Jhakri
The 1,500 MW Nathpa Jhakri hydro-electric project on the Sutlej in Himachal Pradesh, run by SJVN, has one of the largest underground power houses in India. The Salal project is on the Chenab in Jammu & Kashmir. The Bhakra Nangal project is on the Sutlej too, with surface power houses at the dam. The Damodar Valley Corporation (1948), modelled on the Tennessee Valley Authority, tamed the Damodar, once called the 'Sorrow of Bengal'.
