Zabti was
- a.Currency
- b.Trade
- c.Customs
- d.Land Revenue System
Answer: (D) Land Revenue System
Zabti (the zabt system) was Akbar's land revenue system, organised by Raja Todar Mal, in which land was measured and revenue fixed in cash on the basis of average produce and prices. It was linked with the dahsala system based on ten-year averages. Akbar's coinage included the silver rupiya and the gold mohur, which have nothing to do with zabti. It was a revenue method, not a form of trade or customs duty.
