History of IndiaMughal Empire
The original name of Nurjahan was
- a.Luftunnissa
- b.Khairunnisa
- c.Meherunnisa
- d.Raziya
Answer: (C) Meherunnisa
Nur Jahan's original name was Mehr-un-Nissa; she was the daughter of Mirza Ghiyas Beg (Itimad-ud-Daulah) and the widow of Sher Afghan before marrying Jahangir in 1611. She was first given the title Nur Mahal and then Nur Jahan. Raziya was the Sultan of Delhi, unrelated to her. Lutf-un-Nissa is remembered as the wife of Siraj-ud-Daulah, while Khairunnisa has no link with Nur Jahan.
