Q77
History of IndiaMughal Empire
The Yusufzai revolt took place during the reign of
  1. a.Shahjahan
  2. b.Akbar
  3. c.Aurangzed
  4. d.Jahangir

Answer: (C) Aurangzed

Textbooks list the Yusufzai revolt among the risings of Aurangzeb's reign: the Yusufzai Afghans of the north-west rose in 1667 under their leader Bhagu and were put down, and the Afridi and Khattak risings followed in the 1670s. Akbar also fought the Yusufzais in 1586, the campaign in which Birbal was killed, which makes (B) the tempting option, but the ‘Yusufzai revolt’ of the textbooks is the 1667 rising. Shah Jahan and Jahangir faced no Yusufzai rising of note.
