ArithmeticAlgebra, Equations & Operations
The cost of 3 horses is same as the cost of 5 cows. If total cost of 4 horses and 6 cows is ₹ 1,900, find the cost of one horse.
  1. a.₹ 50
  2. b.₹ 150
  3. c.₹ 200
  4. d.₹ 250

Answer: (D) ₹ 250

3H = 5C means a cow costs $\frac{3}{5}$ of a horse. Then 4H + 6 × $\frac{3}{5}$H = 7·6H = 1900, so H = ₹ 250 (and a cow ₹ 150). ₹ 150 is the cost of a cow.
