When did the Dandi March take place?
- a.12th April, 1925
- b.7th August, 1942
- c.12th March, 1930
- d.14th May, 1935
Answer: (C) 12th March, 1930
Gandhiji set out from Sabarmati Ashram on 12 March 1930 with 78 followers, walked about 240 miles (385 km) and broke the salt law at Dandi on the Gujarat coast on 6 April 1930, launching the Civil Disobedience Movement. August 1942 belongs to the Quit India Movement, 1935 to the Government of India Act, and 1925 has no connection (the Kakori train action took place that August). In the south, C. Rajagopalachari led a parallel salt march from Tiruchirappalli to Vedaranyam.
