Answer: (A) Zaskar and Pir Panjal
The Valley of Kashmir is a longitudinal basin about 135 km long, drained by the Jhelum, lying between the Pir Panjal range to the south-west and the Great Himalayan (Zaskar) range to the north-east. The Karakoram lies much farther north beyond Ladakh, and the Shiwalik is the outermost range, south of the Pir Panjal along the Jammu foothills. The valley is famous for its karewa deposits (lake-bed terraces) used for saffron cultivation; the Banihal Pass and Jawahar Tunnel cross the Pir Panjal.
