Siachen glacier is located in the following range:
- a.Karakoram
- b.Zaskar
- c.Pir Panjal
- d.Shiwalik
Answer: (A) Karakoram
The Siachen Glacier, about 76 km long, lies in the eastern Karakoram range in Ladakh, north-east of map point NJ9842; it feeds the Nubra river (a tributary of the Shyok) and is called the world's highest battlefield, held by India since Operation Meghdoot (1984). The Zaskar range lies south of the Indus and the Ladakh range, the Pir Panjal belongs to the Lesser Himalaya, and the Shiwalik is the outermost foothill range - none of them holds a glacier of this size. Other Karakoram glaciers: Baltoro, Biafo, Hispar.
