Badland topography is an important characteristic of the following region:
- a.Gulf of Kutch
- b.Sundarban Delta
- c.Konkan Coast
- d.Chambal Valley
Answer: (D) Chambal Valley
Badland topography - a maze of deep gullies and ravines cut by running water in soft alluvium - is typical of the Chambal Valley, where the ravines (locally 'beehad') cover large tracts of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. The Gulf of Kutch is known for tidal mudflats, salt marshes and coral reefs, the Sundarban delta for tidal creeks and mangroves, and the Konkan coast for rias, cliffs and laterite plateaus. In West Bengal, similar gully erosion is seen at Gangani (Garbeta) on the Silabati, the 'Grand Canyon of Bengal'.
