Dr. Manoj Soni was appointed as the Chairman of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in April 2022, succeeding Pradip Kumar Joshi. As an educationist who had served as Vice-Chancellor of two universities, he was the first UPSC Chairman from outside the civil services. He later resigned in July 2024.
