Rajiv Kumar took charge as the 25th Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India on 15 May 2022, succeeding Sushil Chandra. A retired IAS officer, Kumar had previously served as Finance Secretary of India. His tenure was from May 2022 to February 2025.
