  1. a.England
  2. b.Scotland
  3. c.Italy
  4. d.Switzerland

Answer: (B) Scotland

The Scottish Parliament passed the Gender Recognition Reform (Scotland) Bill on 22 December 2022. It sought to let people change their legal gender by self-declaration, dropping the need for a medical diagnosis of gender dysphoria, lowering the minimum age from 18 to 16 and shortening the waiting period. In January 2023 the UK government blocked it from becoming law by using Section 35 of the Scotland Act, 1998, for the first time ever. Nicola Sturgeon was Scotland's First Minister at the time. In England the UK-wide Gender Recognition Act, 2004 continues to apply, and Switzerland had already introduced self-declaration from January 2022.
