Khadi Fest 2022, organised by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) to mark Gandhi Jayanti, was inaugurated in Mumbai in October 2022 by the Union MSME Minister, Narayan Rane, and was held after a gap of two years. KVIC is a statutory body set up in 1957 under the KVIC Act, 1956; it works under the Ministry of MSME and its headquarters is in Mumbai, where the Fest is held every year. Do not confuse it with the "Khadi Utsav" on the Sabarmati riverfront at Ahmedabad (August 2022), where 7,500 women spun the charkha together.
