Q140
Geography (incl. West Bengal)States, Borders & Political Divisions
How many landlocked States in India do not have international boundary?
  1. a.Two
  2. b.Four
  3. c.Five
  4. d.Six

Answer: (C) Five

Answer as of 2022 — this may have changed since.

Five states have neither a coastline nor an international border: Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Haryana and Telangana. Telangana became the fifth such state when it was formed from Andhra Pradesh in 2014. Delhi is also enclosed but is a Union Territory, not a state. States such as Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are landlocked but share a border with Nepal, so they are excluded.
