- a.The Eastern Himalayas
- b.The Lusai Hill
- c.The Arakan Yoma
- d.The Jayantia Hill
Answer: (C) The Arakan Yoma
The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are the raised peaks of a submarine mountain chain that continues the Arakan Yoma of Myanmar southwards. Saddle Peak in North Andaman is their highest point, and Barren Island has India's only active volcano. The Lushai (Mizo) hills of Mizoram are also part of the Purvanchal folds linked with the Arakan Yoma, but they are on the mainland. The Jaintia hills are part of the Meghalaya plateau, an old block unrelated to these folds.
