The Zaskar range is part of the Trans Himalaya and runs parallel to the Great Himalaya, between it and the Ladakh range, so it lies between Ladakh and the northern (Great) Himalaya. Its highest peak is Kamet in Uttarakhand. The zone between the Great Himalaya and the Siwaliks is the Lesser Himalaya, home to ranges such as the Pir Panjal and the Dhauladhar. The Eastern Himalaya lies far to the east, in Sikkim, Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh.
