Who was afflicted by the “Deccan Ulcer”?
  1. a.Akbar
  2. b.Babur
  3. c.Aurangzeb

Answer: (C) Aurangzeb

Aurangzeb spent the last 25 years of his life in endless campaigns in the Deccan against Bijapur, Golconda and the Marathas, which drained the empire; this is called the 'Deccan Ulcer'. He died at Ahmednagar in 1707 and was buried at Khuldabad. Akbar's Deccan campaign was limited, taking parts of Ahmednagar after the resistance of Chand Bibi. Babur never campaigned in the Deccan.
