Q22
ReasoningNon-Verbal: Dice, Figures & Patterns
Direction: In question, numbers are placed in figures on the basis of some rules. One place in the figure is indicated by the interrogation sign (?). Find out the correct alternative to replace the question mark and indicate your answer by filling the circle of the corresponding letter of alternatives in the OMR Answer Sheet. Figure 1: 11, 5 → 96 Figure 2: 15, 9 → 144 Figure 3: 21, 16 → ?
  1. a.185
  2. b.165
  3. c.175
  4. d.195

Answer: (A) 185

In each figure the bottom number is (sum of the top numbers) × (their difference): (11 + 5) × (11 − 5) = 96 and (15 + 9) × (15 − 9) = 144. So the missing number is (21 + 16) × (21 − 16) = 37 × 5 = 185. The other options do not follow this rule.
