Who among the following has been elected as Singapore's first woman President?
  1. a.Lee Bee Wah
  2. b.Rahayu Mahzam
  3. c.Halimah Yacob
  4. d.Selima Komor

Answer: (C) Halimah Yacob

Halimah Yacob became the eighth and first woman President of Singapore in September 2017. The election was reserved for the Malay community and she was the only candidate declared eligible, so she won without a vote; she had earlier been Speaker of Parliament. Singapore's President is largely a ceremonial head of state, and executive power lies with the Prime Minister.
