The solar cooker works on the same principle as
  1. a.Bolometer
  2. b.Pyrometer
  3. c.Greenhouse
  4. d.Solar PV cell

Answer: (C) Greenhouse

A box-type solar cooker has a glass cover and a blackened interior: short-wave solar radiation passes through the glass and is absorbed, but the long-wave infrared radiation re-emitted by the hot interior cannot escape through the glass, so heat is trapped - exactly the greenhouse effect; a plane-mirror reflector adds more sunlight. A bolometer measures radiant energy through a change of resistance, a pyrometer measures very high temperatures from a distance, and a solar PV cell converts light directly into electricity (photovoltaic effect).
