Who was involved with the 'India Independence League'?
  1. a.Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das
  2. b.Mahadev Govind Ranade
  3. c.Ananda Mohan Bose
  4. d.Rashbihari Bose

Answer: (D) Rashbihari Bose

The Indian Independence League was organised by Rashbehari Bose, the revolutionary who had escaped to Japan in 1915 after the Hardinge bomb case and the failed Ghadar plan; it took shape at the Tokyo and Bangkok conferences of 1942 and, with Captain Mohan Singh's Indian National Army, formed the base that Rashbehari handed over to Subhas Chandra Bose at Singapore in July 1943. C. R. Das founded the Swaraj Party (1923) and died in 1925; M. G. Ranade founded the Indian National Social Conference (1887); Ananda Mohan Bose co-founded the Indian Association (1876). Do not confuse it with the Independence for India League formed within the Congress in 1928 by Jawaharlal Nehru and Subhas Bose.
