  2. b.the Cauvery
  3. c.the Penganga

Answer: (A) the Godavari

The Godavari (1,465 km), rising at Trimbakeshwar near Nashik in the Western Ghats and flowing through Maharashtra, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to the Bay of Bengal below Rajahmundry, is the longest and largest river of peninsular India and is called Dakshina Ganga or Vriddha Ganga. The Penganga is only a sub-tributary of the Godavari (through the Wardha and Pranhita), the Mahanadi drains Chhattisgarh and Odisha, and the Kaveri (about 800 km), though sacred and sometimes loosely called the 'Ganga of the South', is far smaller. Godavari tributaries: Pranhita, Indravati, Sabari, Manjira, Purna.
