  1. a.Calcutta
  2. b.Madras

Answer: (C) Lahore

The Nehru Report (August 1928), drafted by a committee under Motilal Nehru in answer to the all-white Simon Commission, asked for dominion status, joint electorates and fundamental rights. At the Calcutta session (December 1928) the Congress accepted it but gave the government one year to concede dominion status. When nothing came of it, the Lahore session of December 1929, presided over by Jawaharlal Nehru, declared the Report to have lapsed and adopted Purna Swaraj as the goal, fixing 26 January 1930 as Independence Day. The Madras session (1927) had resolved to boycott the Simon Commission, and the Bombay session came in 1934.
